| Brewersre signed Trevor Hoffman! | | This is excelent news! We finally have a closer who will be around a second season! The first closers would play one year and then become free-agents and sign elsewhere the next season! This is really good news! | |
| | Glad the 2009 season is over! | | The Brewers ended their 2009 season at 80 wins and 82 loses. At the start of the season the Brewers were to run for the ML Central division championship and make it to the playoffs! It didn't happen and wonder what the Brewera will do in the off season. We need better pitching! Especially in the starting pitching! I hope Braden Looper comes back! He was one of the bright spots in the pitching! In relief pitching I hope the Brewers keep trevor hoffman! He wants to be a Brewer next year! Then there is shortstop, second and third base to work on! It will be interesting to see what happens! It will be an interesting off season for the Brew Crew! | |
| | injured closer | | the Brewers just placed their new closer, Trevor Hoffman, on the disabled list for his strained side. He will miss the first few games of the season. From what I've read so far, it looks like Carlos Villaneuva until Hoffman comes back. They also may use Dave Bush as the closer for the first game as it will be his day to pitch. Either way, at least this is happening at the beginning of the season when we need him most. | |
| | If your life had theme music, what would your song be? | | In sports you hear today's athletes being accompanied by theme music, especially in baseball.
Chipper Jones' song is Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne.
Trevor Hoffman walks out to Hell's Bells.
Robert Duval's theme song in Apocolypse Now was Flight of the Valkyries.
If you could carry around your theme song to accompany you on important moments, what would you be playing?
You have an important sales presentation to give, and as you walk to the podium, you hit play and suddenly the opening chords to The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" blares from the speakers.
My theme music would be the opening chords to Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love.
What's your theme song?
| | Best closers in baseball | | Tell me who you think is the best, who was the greatest, or who your favorites are and why?
I'll start with personal experience. I went to an Angels game this year and saw Francisco Rodriguez. He is awesome. The celebrations, the electric fastball. Good stuff to watch. I also enjoyed seeing in person Eric Gagne, Shingo Takatsu, Bobby Jenks, Troy Percival, and Tom Henke. I think Mariano Rivera is the best all time. The best in the national league would be Trevor Hoffman. I really liked the Gong that played for Takatsu.
| | Selig unsure whether he will attend Bonds' games | | Barry Bonds might get a telephone call from baseball commissioner Bud Selig instead of a handshake if the San Francisco Giants slugger breaks Hank Aaron's home run record.Selig wouldn't say Thursday whether he would attend any Giants games if and when Bonds closes in on the mark.Selig insisted that Major League Baseball would celebrate Bonds' potential feat exactly as it does any other major milestone, such as a pitcher's 300th win. Last year, Selig telephoned San Diego closer Trevor Hoffman when he became the career saves leader."I wasn't there when Roger Clemens won his 300th game. That's a matter I'll determine at some point in the future," Selig said at a baseball luncheon hosted by Fox Sports Bay Area. "Let me say it, and I'm not going to say anymore. That's it." | |
