Major League Baseball (MLB) - American or Un-American
If you have been following the contraversy over Arizona's new immigration law, you may have seen mention that the MLB is thinking about planning to boycott or cancel playoffs in Arizona because of this law.The excuse they are using is that is would result inpossible harrassment of their players.Players, not fans. The AZ lawonly requires police officers to ask for identification if they reasonably suspect the person is illegally in the country; and then, only if they are stopped for something else - traffic stop, drugs, domestic violence, etc.So, this has had me wondering and wonderingwhy this would be an issue to the MLB.Are they worried that their minority players are so unruly they would be stopped frequently for these types of violations? Are their players here in the US illegally?Do they have such a high number of legal immigrants that it would be a problem if even a small percentage were stopped on routine violations and asked to produce their paperwork? (Note:federal law also requires them to keep their work visas, passports, green cards, etc. with them.)All of these questions lead me to wonder why...
Is Major League Baseball Too Strict On Who They Let Into the Hall of Fame?
Unlike other Sports the MLB judges ethics as much as how great a player is before hes inducted into the Hall of Fame. Do think its best that way or should they be willing to forgive more and induct a player who may not have an excellent reputation? Do you think other Hall of Fames such as the NFL or NBA should judge how good a pro athletes reputation is like the MLB before inducting them into the Hall of Fame?
Did You Watch The 2009 Major League Baseball All-Star Game?
I was so happy that I got to watch the All-Star Game last night. I don't have cable or anything so I wasn't going to be able to watch it but my exboyfriend let me watch it at his house. I am so happy that I got to see it in my beloved St. Louis Cardinal's Busch Stadium. The only thing better would have been being there in person. I thought it was an awesome game, but I have to say my favorite part was Molina's hit up the middle(yes, I know it wasn't the biggest play but I'm Cardinals fan![em]thumbup[/em]). Yes, I know the National League lost but still, it was a great game and it was a very close one. They kept the game very exciting and I think it was one of the best All-Star games in years. So, did you get to see the All-Star game? What did you think of it?
I've been to every Major League Baseball stadium
It was a lifelong dream of mine to attend every major league Baseball stadium. I'm happy to say I finally achieved my goal. I decided to write about it & pick my favorite & my least favorite stadiums of the bunch. I wrote about it here:My pick for the WORST stadiums:http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/394575/a_guide_to_major_league_baseball_stadiums.htmlAnd my pick for the BEST stadiums:http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/96961/a_guide_to_major_league_baseball_stadiums.htmlRead it & let me know what you think please! migrants that it would be a problem if even a small percentage were stopped on routine violations and asked to produce their paperwork? (Note:federal law also requires them to keep their work visas, passports, green cards, etc. with them.)All of these questions lead me to wonder why American baseball teams are not hiring American citizens to play baseball. At schools all across the country, young men are striving to achieve a place on a professional baseball team. Are these teamsunable to find a talented American citizen to play on the team? Do theyhave to recruit...
Major League Baseball in the Northern States
I recently attended a Cleveland Indians game that I sat at for 5 hours and only watched almost 5 innings due to the snow. They cleared the field several times of snow and we continued to sit and watch due to Paul Bryd having a no-hitter. They called the game with Bryd only needing one more strike to have in be a complete game! I was upset due to the weather and the umpires! I think they should start the MLB season in the South where it is warm. This would eliminate the problems for the players and the fans
Whats your 2007 Major League Baseball Predictions?
As a huge baseball fan I would like to here what other fans think of the up coming season, believe it or not spring training is almost here! I'm a bit partial, but I honestly think the Blue Jays can take the A.L East!
Minor league vs major League Baseball
Which do you prefer and why. I grew up in a major league city, so we never went to any minor league games. But after moving to a smaller city, I've found that I actually like the minor league games better. they cost less and are more fun. What do you think?
Should MLB ( Major League Baseball ) have opening games in China?
MLB president Bob DuPuy exclaims, "Our goal is to open the season in China -- with regular-season games -- in the very near future." Am I the only person who see's baseball as the last true ALL American game? Let me know your thoughts!
Should Mark McGwire be Inducted into The Hall of Fame?
Mark McGwire recent debacle over finally admitting to use steroids has maybe cleared his conscious but it may not have made him a fan favorite to get more bids for a Hall of Fame lock. Does he deserve to be forgiven for his blatant lies about his steroid use?
Should the MLB expand and feature all countries willing to participate in it?
I am just wondering because I do not get why the championship game is called the World Series if the whole world is not in it. It just doesn't seem right.
