| ANOTHER GOP Lie?? Jackie Robinson, "Famous Republican"? | | There's a page on the GOP website entitled "American Heroes and Famous Repubicans" where they tell about some famous African-American and Hispanic Americans who also happened to be Repubicans. One of them is below:jackie robinsonIn 1947, jackie robinson became the first African-American to play major league baseball in the United States, as a first baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Not only was he a great athlete, jackie robinson was also a great Republican. He campaigned for Richard Nixon's presidential campaign in 1960 and then supported Nelson Rockefeller (R-NY) for the Republican nomination in 1964. Robinson worked as a special assistant in Governor Rockefeller’s administration.
The general manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, Branch Rickey, who hired jackie robinson, was also a Republican. The Missouri Republican Party later offered Rickey the nomination for Governor and Senator, but he preferred baseball to...
| | Jackie Robinson day | | 60 years ago Jackie Robinson became the 1st black player to play in the major leagues. MLB decided to honor him by retiring the number 42 throughout the American & National league. Theyt allowed players to wear the number in honor of him today. Do you think they should've had everyone on all the teams wear that number? | |
| | Harmony Poem - The wall | | Sunday, April 16, 2007 was the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's debut in Major League baseball of the United States. Prejudice is like a wall, and whether we live in the United States, or just about any other part of the world, its something we need to deal with. What follows is a modified version of a poem I wrote twenty years ago. I'm not a poet, so it won't follow any rules of poetry, but I hope the words flow. Each morning I wake,
I confront a wall.
Daring to be torn,
facing me with scorn.
A few people go over,
some sneak around.
Most don't make it,
none break through
A wall of ignorance and fear.If super beings existed,
if magic true,
the wall would crumble,
its contents disappear.
Bricks bound together,
muscles flexed.
Standing tall and strong,
feeding and growing
A diet of ignorance and fearSuper beings never born,
Merlins are no more,
Mortals must collect
and overpower the wall.
Coming together,
minds open.
Education and understanding
choke and starve
A world of ignorance and fear.

| | Oops! Obama tells another nativity fib lies about father | | It appears Barack Obama Jr may have never been taught thou shall not lie,or is it he was never taught one lie leads to the next lie then another and another?
In Obama's book "Dreams from my father" he tells an elaborate story about his father being air lift out of Kenya to Hawaii, backed by several people including John F. Kennedy, the manuscript Division of the Library of Congress shows Barack Hussein Obama Jr actually lied what he said happen never even took place.
The more Barack Obama Jr is caught in lies the more the American people seek to know who really is Barack Hussein Obama, dose Barack Obama's lies and concealment of his true birth certificate and other legal papers make you wonder who really is Barack Hussein Obama Jr?(Barack Obama Jr lies about father)Official documents catch Barack Obama in another apparent misrepresentation of his life story, this time challenging a claim made during his campaign that his father was part of a JFK-era airlift to bring Kenyan students to the U.S. to study in American universities.WND research indicates Barack Obama Sr. was not brought to Hawaii in 1959 by any airlift of Kenyan students organized by baseball great Jackie...
| | Review of Citi Field | | Here is my unbaised review of the new Citi Field - I am a Red Sox fan, thus making my feelings on Citi Field unbaised. I went to my first game at Citi Field yesterday. I had heard different opinions on it, but now I have seen it for myself. I think my favorite thing is the openess of the stadium. You can see the field from any concourse level. I was sitting on the promenade level - the top tier - in the second row. I could see everything except the outfield directly below my seats. There are lots of screens around, so if I missed a play on the field I could just watch the screen. Since it was so brutally hot, I ended up staying in the concourse for most of the game. The staff was very nice. One man got me a chair and some ice to cool down with. I was still able to see the game even though I was inside, which was cool. We went down to the field level to check out the food options and the frequently mentioned Shake Shack. We got burgers, fries and shakes from there. The food was good, but seriously overpriced. There are a large variety of food options throughout the park, which was nice. The Jackie Robinson Rotunda is pretty cool. We tried to find our brick out on the fanwalk,... | |
| | Father of two dies after sliding off escalator railing | | I just found this online, and I don't know if it'll be deleted soon so I took the privilege of posting it, for those who are interested to read though. But my question is, if these causes accidents and all, why don't they place a lower type of stairs instead of a steep one? How many are they waiting to die or have an accident first before they do something about it?------A Mets fan leaving the game last night lost his balance while descending an escalator at Shea Stadium and plummeted two stories to his death - as his two young daughters watched in horror, authorities said.Antonio Narainasami, 36, of Brooklyn, was with several other relatives on a family outing, when the tragedy took place around 10 p.m. in Section A near left field. At home was the fan's wife, who is pregnant with their third child. The victim, a Guyanese native, who lived in Cypress Hills and worked in air conditioning repair and installation, was taken to New York Hospital Queens, where he was pronounced dead. His cousin, Kevin Prashad, who was there, said Narainasami had been walking down the escalator, which was turned off."He lost his footing somehow and then he went over the... | |
